Last Call for the Dodge Challenger and Charger
Dodge plans to discontinue its gas-powered Challenger and Charger muscle cars at the end of 2023 in order to continue on with their transition to electric vehicles. One reason for the discontinuation of the muscle cars is because Dodge plans to roll out its own line of electric vehicles. Another reason is because the Challenger and Charger have contributed to fuel economy and emission problems for the brand.

What To Expect From Dodge
Dodge is not letting the Challenger and Charger go without paying tribute to them first. They plan to launch a series of special vehicles and products to celebrate the end of the gas-powered muscle cars. For example, there will be seven special-edition models and a “Last Call’ under-hood plaque for all of the 2023 model year vehicles.
A new dealer allocation process will also take place during the 2023 model year where dealerships will receive Challenger and Charger models all at once to make it easier for auto shoppers to get the specific car they want. Dodge will also provide customers with a guide to locate specific models at each dealership.
There is also a chance that in the future the Challenger and Charger names could be used for future electrified muscle cars. The days of an iron block supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine may be coming to an end but that doesn’t mean that the muscle car legacy will be forgotten.
